Biography

Training
Anne Alexander was born in Marseilles, France, where as a child she
studied piano at the Marseilles Conservatoire. She later continued
her studies graduating with a Degree in Musicology from the Aix-en-Provence
University.
As a vocalist, Anne studied voice as a lyric soprano with Ms. Lise
Arseguet-Romeny and attended many workshops and masterclasses including
the Jean Giraudeau's Lyric Art Workshop and the Michel Piquemal's
Melodie masterclasses respectively.
Career
Ms. Alexander's current repertoire
displays her wide range which includes everything from Opera
to Light Opera and Operetta.
She has performed on the operatic stage at Toulon, Menton, Arles and
Avignon Opera Houses, with artists such as Ivry Gitlis, Léa
Roussel and Anne Queffelec.
Ms. Alexander's roles include Leila in Bizet's Les Pêcheurs
de perles, Micaela in Carmen, Juliette in Gounod's Roméo
et Juliette, the title role in Massenet's Manon, Antonia
in Offenbach's Contes d'Hoffmann, Ernestine in Monsieur
Choufleuri, the Title Role in Charpentier's Louise, the
Princess in Ravel's L'Enfant et les sortilèges, Thérèse
in Poulenc's Mamelles de Tirésias, Bettina in Audran's
Mascotte, Bengaline in Grand Mogol, as Serpolette
in Planquette's Cloches de Corneville, the Title Role in
Messager's Véronique and Gounod's Mireille
in which Ms. Alexander is most noted.
Ms. Alexander has gained much attention as a recitalist. In 1998 she
was a finalist in the Marmande International Competition. She continues
to perform numerous concerts, specializing in French
Melodie and German Lied. In 2003, Anne sang arias by Purcell,
Vivaldi, Mozart and Massenet aboard the SS Adriana.
